Marker Mashups

This project is a byproduct of my initial fascination with Looking Forward to Being Attacked, a 1977 self-defense guide created by a Tennessee police lieutenant. I began playing with the vibration between texts and images from other instructional manuals and thinking about creating new narratives of instruction that destabilize rational knowledge, in favor of something more humorous, queer, absurd, or metaphysical.
